Arabic phrases of the week

الله عز وجل
Transliteration: Allah Azz wa jal
Translation: It refers to Allaah, meaning He is: "Mighty and the Majestic." It has the same meaning as Subhaana Wa Ta'aala. which means "Glorious and Exalted is He," 
Usage: Glorification of Allah or in communication or reference to Allah

سُبْحَانَ الَّذِي سَخَّرَ لَنَا هَذَا وَمَا كُنَّا لَهُ مُقْرِنِينَ وَإِنَّا إِلَى رَبِّنَا لَمُنْقَلِبُونَ


Transileration: Subhanalla-thee sakh-khara-lana haatha wa-ma kun-na lahoo muqrineena wa inna ila Rabbina la-mun-qali-boon.
Translation: Glory be to Him (Allah) who has brought this (vehicle) under our control though we were unable to control it. Sure, we are to return to our Lord.
Usage: When starting to travel/undertake a journey

الرحمن
Transliteration:Ar-Raḥmān
Translation:The Compassionate, The Beneficent, The Gracious
Usage: One of the 99 names of Allah. Beginning of every chapter except one, and in numerous other places. Name of a Surah in the Quran (Ar-Rahman) and often used ato bring better memory for the one who recites it often.
